Saint Mary's is the only Anglican church in the town currently used for public worship. The other, Saint Peter's, is a grade I-listed monument in the care of English Heritage. The active membership at present covers a very broad spectrum of churchmanship. There is a Vicar, two associate priests, two Readers, a Local Ministry Team of six and a choir of men's, women's and childrens' voices. There are three services each Sunday and one every Wednesday and on major Saints' days. We welcome visitors and the mediaeval church building is open daily.
